Synergy General Raiding Guidelines

Be Prepared! Come to every raid on-time and ready to raid (if you do not know what it means to be prepared, refer to your class forum for further information), and possibly wipe, for the full length of time the raid is scheduled for.

Attitude is Everything! If you come with a poor attitude, prepare to mute yourself and not bring the raid down. We are all here to have fun, so please maintain a demeanor that supports that.

Pay Attention! Be focused and ready to raid without distractions. If outside distractions are going to effect your playing, either remove the distraction or work with the Raid Leader on a replacement. We have folks on limited schedules, so do them the courtesy of devoting your full attention to the time scheduled for raiding.

Raid Sign Ups

  • Make sure you ALWAYS sign up for ALL raids. Even if you cannot make a raid, sign up and mark yourself as 'Not Attending'. This way you are accounted for and the Leadership team does not have to hunt you down for your availability.
  • Sign up as soon as possible once a raid has been scheduled. The earlier members sign up, the easier it is for Leadership to plan and prepare for the upcoming raids.
  • If you do not see raids scheduled a week in advance, you may be having a calendar conflict. You need to contact an officer as soon as possible to try to get this resolved. Look here for ways to resolve calendar issues.

Raid Scheduling
  • Our raid invites start at 7:45 Server Time (Eonar is in the Eastern Timezone), we replace late or missing folks at 8:05pm, first pull is no later than 8:15pm. We raid Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays weekly. The third night of raiding varies. We generally run right up to eleven and may run a little bit later on weekends.
  • We are focused on raiding together and progressing together. We raid only with our guild. If you feel it is vital to attend a raid with another guild it is discouraged and you must speak to an officer beforehand.

  • Some raids will be scheduled on off nights. These raids may offer an opportunity for alts to come, or just add an additional night of fun raiding.

Raid Issues
  • If you have a problem with the way a certain piece of loot is distributed, do NOT bring it up during the raid. After the raid is over talk to an officer to discuss the problem. Constant complaining about loot may result in your loss of guild membership.
  • There is a Raid Leader for a reason. Please respect the choices the Raid Leader is making for how the bosses are to be approached. Constant 'back-seat driving' of the raid or interrupting of the Raid Leader will not be tolerated.

Raiding and Alts
  • This guild is about progression and seeing new content. The guild is not going to progress by bringing alts to raids. We will go further by bringing people with a class they know how to play best and are geared with. In light of this, while Synergy welcomes your alts to the guild, do not expect to raid with them until an instance is well on farm status.

Raid Looting

Gear Distribution
  • All BoP raid gear drops will be handled by the designated Raid Leader for your raid. If an item drops that is an upgrade for your toon, send a private tell to the RL stating the upgrade you want and linking the gear it will replace. The RL will consult with Leadership to discuss how the piece of gear will be distributed.
  • Remember, all gear is being handed out based ONLY on how it will benefit guild raid progress. Decisions take into consideration the individual's over-all raid participation and the comparable size of upgrade for interested parties. RLs will do there very best to be fair, so please do not engage in 'loot drama' by second-guessing their decisions (even if you are not the person for whom the loot is being considered).
  • Any member that is not a Progressive member do not receive loot priority and should not expect to be handed any loot drops. This does not mean these parties cannot receive raid loot, it simply means that progression is considered first, and the majority of gearing for part-timers will be done via bosses who are on or close to farm status.

BOEs, Trash, and Disenchants
  • All BoE Greens will be DE'd or sold to fund raid gearing or raiding consumables.
  • BoE Blues and BoE Epics will be sold to fund raid gearing or raiding consumables (with a possible exception if the item is a large upgrade for someone)
  • There will be times where someone is designated to pick up Trash off bodies instead of each individual. You will be informed when this will happen.
  • Shards will be sold and/or collected by the Guild Bank to fund raid gearing or raiding consumables.

PUGing
We ask raiders to keep themselves available to help the guild progress through content. Consequently, we ask raiders do not get themselves saved to non-guild raiding events. Raiding events include current progression content (TOC up to ICC), weekly raid quests, and VOA.

This allows raiders to continue to raid with their fellow guildies to help build the chemistry needed to be successful. It also makes organizing raid groups much easier. Getting saved to non-guild raids, and therefore, not being able to participate with the guild or help them progress is unacceptable. However, there are exceptions to raiding outside of the guild.
  1. You get saved to non-progressive raids (anything below TOC)
  2. The guild has finished raiding for the current lockout period (generally after Friday night)
  3. You know ahead of time that you will not be able to attend the guild's regularly scheduled raids
