Synergy General Information and Policies

Synergy believes that with the right people on our team, we do not need a bunch of heavy-handed rules to make the guild run smoothly. We do have some general guidelines laid out here on what we expect from our teammates.

Guild Ranks

• GM - Guild Master
  
  
• Officer - Guild officers, second-in-command to the GM and meets all the requirements and expectations of the Raider status.
  
  
• Raider - Full member on 'fully-prepared' raiding status. Expected to participate in all guild activities (questing, raiding, instances, and events). Guild members must achieve this rank to be invited to raids.(see Raiding Guidelines)
  
  
• Friends/Family - Members who add to the social aspect of our guild. This group is reserved for very good friends of other members who have no desire to raid, and also those members who would like to raid, but are unable to make the commitment to raid--for whatever reason. Members in this group will be included in raids when possible but do not receive full loot-priority and should never expect to attend. The only exception is if it is an alt raid that is open to all members of the guild. If these members wish to become a Raider, they will have to submit an application to be reviewed.
  
  
• Sub-Synergy - Alternate characters. We ask that only characters who are regularly being played remain in the guild. Also characters who are in this rank should not expect priority for any events they schedule (Progressives will be focused on helping Part-Timers, rather than alts), or to be run through instances by higher level characters.
  
  
• Trial Member - New guild applicants who are participating in the trial period (approximately 2 weeks) to determine if they are a good fit for the Synergy team.(note:your trial period could be extended at the discretion of Officers)
  

Drama
Synergy does not believe that social histrionics and personal conflicts are inevitable parts of a raiding guild. If you are a cause of drama or demonstrate intolerance for another person or group of people, you put your membership at risk. We expect all members to treat each other with respect.

If you are having a problem with the guild itself, it is your responsibility to come to a leader to discuss the problem. If you are having a problem with a fellow guild member, it is your responsibility to try to resolve the issue with the guild member. If you cannot resolve an issue with the guild member privately, discuss the issue with a leader.

Under no circumstances will we tolerate drama related to loot. We are about progression and downing bosses, not who has the better toys.

We expect everyone to work together to resolve any issues with maturity and open communication. Our leadership will bend over backwards to solve any problems that may arise, but we will not tolerate the use of Ventrilo, guild chat or forums to complain publicly and we cannot help you if you do not come to us.

Forum Use
The use of these forums is the single-most important thing that will make this guild work! Part of membership is the requirement of registering on and utilizing these forums. The backbone of any healthy guild is communication and as we are not all in game and on-line at the same time, our forums are where all up-to-date guild information can be found.

We use our forums to plan events, discuss issues, explain loot and raiding systems, inform members of game changes and is the primary method that leadership uses to distribute important information to the rest of the guild.

Once you are a member and have received full access to the forums, we ask you to take some time and look through the forums to see where all the different information is located. Many, many questions you have are already answered here... and if they are not answered, here is a great place to ask! We all want to be able to devote our in-game time to playing it!

Technical Stuff, Macros & Add-ons
You MUST have a Broadband connection and a responsive computer to raid with us. If lag is a serious issue caused by anything from your video card to your connection speed... as much as we may love you, it just makes it impossible to raid effectively with you. You also need a working headset and microphone.

We have a few specific macros/UI additions that we have guild members use that will add to your guild experience. We have members devoted to tech support and getting new members set up, so please ask questions if you need help. Also, we realize that folks don't all have 'super computers' with the best of everything, so we are careful to select add-ons which can be run without lag on minimum requirements.

Looting
Please see our raiding section for information on raiding gear distribution. Our general looting guidelines for 5-mans/questing are as follows:

• Greed roll everything that no one needs (roll need if it is an upgrade)
  
• Shards (if applicable) will be distributed at the end of the run based on rolls by all participants who did not receive BoP loot from bosses
